One or two members have requested me to place a link or two to Lavender fields in the south which are accessible to the public. My online research has brought up several locations, the most photographer friendly of which seems to be Hitchin Lavender in Hertfordshire. They charge a fee for entry (currently £4.00 per adult), but you may snap away to your hearts content - and even take models. Their Flickr group has over 400 photos of images taken there.
There is the possibilty to make this a great day out with a combined visit to the Cat Survival Trust just down the road in Welwyn. You have to be a member in order to visit (PDF membership application form). WHCC member Bill Pound has taken a number of images there (an Amur Leopard from his Flickr portfolio).
