Going for Gold

posted by Danny Callcut in General

With Autumn hard upon us, many members will doubtless be thinking of locations to capture that classic 'Autumn Gold' picture. With that in mind, the Forsetry Commission have a very helpful Web page: Autumn Colours across England. Using the Google Maps API, they have a constantly updated guide to the 'colour status' of 40 of their woods across England, using the following measures:

  • still green
  • turning yellow
  • yellow
  • turning golden
  • golden
  • leaves are falling

As I write, there are woods across the South at all these stages. Keep an eagle eye out for prime time, and good luck!
