Norfolk and Beyond
posted by Ian Lewis in Club Meetings
Bill Pound, one of our Club members, made the long journey from Norfolk to show us some of his latest images taken since moving out of our area which covered a very wide selection of subjects.
He started with a superb collection of Natural History images which included many bird shots all showing remarkable plumage colour with perfectly exposed close detail. Birds of prey, red kites, owls and puffins all featured in this series.
He then went on to more local landscapes including windmills and the Norfolk coastline and demonstrated how the addition of a flood filter can result in up to half of the image being dissolved and cleverly reflecting the main subject in the water with the broken rippling effect you would expect to see.
Other locations included the North Norfolk Railway where they were holding their 1940's weekend, Snetterton race course, the Shuttleworth collection of early flying machines and some images of Venetian masks and views of Venice.
Thanks, Bill, for a fascinatingly diverse evening of wonderful photography.
