Photographers And Their Images
posted by Ian Lewis in Club Meetings
There we are! Having had one meeting where the little grey cells were exercised – we then had another!
On this particular evening it was Rod Bird - who’s made the trek over from the wilds of Maidenhead a number of times (and still comes back!). This time he took us through the history of photography from the first image by Joseph Niépce in the 1820s to the present day. In the course of the evening, the work of a number of eminent photographers was looked at and discussed. Often these are iconic images which have told important stories and frequently shaped future photography. Strange isn’t it how if they were put into a club competition now the judge would probably heavily criticise them!
Great to look once again at some really wonderful images and consider their influence on our photography.
Thank you Rod for a superb evening – look forward to seeing you at WHCC again in the not too distant future!
