The Arid Parks Of South Africa
posted by Ian Lewis in Club Meetings
So here we were on a cold January evening ready to be transported to sunshine – hot sunshine at that! Our visitor, Stan Hill (who’d taken us to the Arctic Circle last year – so what a difference!!) transported us to the Arid Parks of South Africa to get a glimpse of the landscape and particularly the wildlife!
Stan is a frequent visitor to his native South Africa and his images reflect his intimate knowledge of the area, so we were treated to stunning photographs of the birds, animals and landscapes of the Kalahari and Namib deserts. And of course, knowing the area so well, his narrative throughout was hugely informative and laced with anecdotes.
A thoroughly good evening enjoyed by all! Thank you for sharing your work and experiences with us Stan – and see you again!
