A Window On The World
posted by Ian Lewis in Club Meetings
So last Wednesday we all rolled up at the village hall for an evening in the company of Ruari Cumming ARPS.
In the past Ruari has introduced us to the Hebrides but this time his presentation was called ‘A Window on the World’. As one might expect from this we travelled a bit further this time! Yes - we certainly looked at the UK – and it was further north than Aylesbury - but then we were taken to places where it tends to be a bit warmer (lovely!) and saw some great images of the Mediterranean area from Spain to Cyprus. There was a bit of learning too - we found out about watering systems for farms – which seem to have very narrow walkways – and met with the barbary macaques swarming all over the Rock of Gibraltar (lucky to still have his camera at the end of that!).
And then there was Ruari’s AV presentation of his images which swept and unfolded on the screen before us to musical accompaniment- superbly produced!
A lovely evening of images and commentary Ruari. Expect we’ll see you again!
