What a superb - and dare I say it - inspirational (there - I've said it so I'll say it again - INSPIRATIONAL) evening we had last Wednesday in the company of Linda Bembridge with her presentation "Mostly Landscapes".
Yes - these were landscapes but not as we might expect 'cos Linda has that unique ability to pick out the smaller, more interesting details from the overall subject. She also works exclusively in prints - so no projected images this evening - and that's because the whole presentation is important to her - the size of the print, the mount and the positioning of the image within the mount.
No bitingly pin-sharp images either as Linda's style is distinctly fine art. She carefully doesn't use small apertures to create front to back depth of field but creates a "soft" image with colours blending beautifully - often almost creating a haze. And not only landscapes - wildlife images too! Again a focus on those small, easily missed details which make such good photographs.
Did I say it was a great evening? I reckon we all thought so!
Thank you Linda for sharing your superb work with us. We look forward to seeing you again in the not-too-distant future!
