posted by Ian Lewis in Summer Outings
This week our intrepid band of photographers gathered together for the first of this summer's outdoor meetings. Where were we? On safari in Wasing Park near Aldermaston, that's where - in the tender care of Bill Scott.
Having assembled in the estate offices' car park (those that didn't - like me - turn left at the T-junction that is!) we followed Bill into the depths of the woodland along meandering tracks. Then - there were the lakes with the surrounding trees reflected in the (almost) still water together with a few resident ducks. Suddenly with tripods extended and ISOs checked, the cameras were busy - this really made the walk worthwhile (apart from the exercise point of view of course!). Down more paths with even more lakes glinting through the trees and the evening sunlight casting lengthening shadows as it glowed through the leaves (poetic eh?). Finally, back to the Estate church for a few interior shots.
Afterwards - off to the nearest hostelry to relax over a well-earned pint and recount our evening's adventures!
Thanks, Bill, for arranging such a superb evening to start our Summer Programme!
