We'd waited all year for it - starved ourselves in preparation - and at last here it was - the club's annual gastronomic event - the Presentation Dinner held at the Caversham Heath Golf Club (not a 3-wood in sight - but not a camera either come to think of it!).
So, attired in our finest we gathered together, enjoyed a delicious meal and then..... what else had we come for?.... our esteemed Chairman's fund of jokes and stories of course - the high(?) spot of the evening! Waited a couple of years for this - and was the waiting worth it? - 'course it was!
And then, of course, the presentation of the awards achieved throughout the season. For those who weren't there, and as a reminder to those who were - here are the worthy winners.
The Forum Challenge Shield for colour prints was won by John Sexton; The Monochrome Trophy was won by Tony Bates; The Nigel Glover-Wright Trophy for Natural History went to the remarkably un-eaten John Sexton; The Alan Copeland Trophy for the best improver went to Joyce Storey; The Martin Pearson Trophy for digital images was won by David Smith; The Tony Bates Trophy for monochrome digital images went to Melvyn Newman and finally, The JimRo Trophy for the Picture of the Year was won by Tony Bates.
Congratulations to all these worthy winners - now we've got to do it all again next season!
A superb evening, enjoyed by all! A whole year to wait until we do it all again though!
