Monochrome Digital Image Competition
posted by Ian Lewis in Club Meetings
This week, our second ever monochrome digital image competition. We ran the pilot version last year and it was such a rip-roaring success that it was decided to make it an annual feature! And in the hot seat - Colin Harrison (he's the one with so many qualifications that we'd need another page to list them all!!)
As we ran through the images on the screen it became obvious that Colin would need all his expertise. (let's say I was secretly pleased that I'd forgotten to bring my memory stick the previous week!). There were some really great images - and lovely to see a whole evening of monochrome. We were treated to superb portraits, landscapes, architecture, transport and still life.
At the end of the evening, three images scored the coveted 20 points. They were: "Love In The Mist" by Melvyn Newman; "Woodland Sun Beams" and "The Pale Rose" both by Ceri Jones.
The top three places were as follows: Dorothy Wood came third with 35 points, second was Nigel Farmer scoring 38 points and the winner this evening was Ceri Jones scoring a perfect 40 points.
Well done to the top scorers and of course to everyone who entered and made this such a great evening! Thanks also to Colin who used all his qualifications to good effect and even finished well before last orders!!
