Ruari Cumming ARPS was our guest speaker this evening when he presented the final instalment of his trilogy (that's a set of three) in which he has studied and photographed the Inner and Outer Hebrides.
Ruari gave a highly personal and emotional evening with flowery and flowing commentary accompanied by some of the finest photographs I have seen for a long time. Ruari has a special affinity with these islands and the people who live there and we were treated to many aspects of island life interspersed with movie footage.
Throughout the evening, we enjoyed moving music which accompanied his sequences and were treated to some amazing special effects portraying movement as well as complicated dissolve programmes between images.
We all agreed that this final chapter of the story was, by far, the best so far and I hope it won't be too long before we can invite him back with another selection of superb images, possibly taken in a different part of the world.
